The Balancing eel always used to get my vote but recently the chips have been going downhill. The fish are good as they are cooked fresh but the chips are just not doing it for me.

I tend to agree....Balancing eels fish & chips have declined over recent years.

The chips were deteriorating & we were considering going elsewhere - a big break in tradition. However we took to ordering in advance - easy in winter & when you live close by - & the chips were excellent. The fish, as always, was brilliant. They still get my vote!
