Is there any rumours around the town of what is going in the building where Woolworth's was? Does anyone one know what the new bar/restaurant is called on Fore Street by Woolworth's. When I was last down there in September it was just being finished off. What is it like? Anyone been?

I presume you mean the one that is opposite the fudge shop on the fork in the road called Firehouse Bar and grill? It is a modern looking place that is pulling in the crowds.
Not been in but worth a visit.

Latest news is that Tesco will be taking over Woollies.

Tesco's sounds like a reasonable alternative in terms of getting bits and bobs and not having to go out of town to do so - hope they still stock a little selection of kids toys etc though as my girls used to love popping in there to spend their pocket money!

(Tesco) I hope not. The fact there are virtually no 'chains' in the town is the reason it remains the place it is. I would prefer it if Subway was out of town.

There is activity in Woolies, maybe I asked the wrong question but they were not saying who is moving in...

wellworths maybe. lol. I hope it's something decent. I think it would be wrong to open another gallery or restaurant. Something for the people that live there, not for the visitors.

Matt.
