Actually I quite like the Balancing Eel (upstairs) It's small but very friendly and their portions are fantastic. They were the first to introduce me to fruit in green salads! Their childrens meals are excellent too |

I've been going to The Mermaid since it opened years ago. The best dover sole. We did a comparison test with Seafood Cafe (also very good) and The Mermaid won. Friendly staff, great atmos. Try to get a booth. The paella at the Bluefish Cafe is lovely. We do that for my birthday treat. |

![]() We love Hobblers on the harbour front. I have to say it's tiny but the food is great and it feels like I have gone back a few hundred years every time I go in. Also, the Pednolva (appologies for the spelling) is great. It's the beautiful hotel that you get to by walking past the lifeboat house, towards carbis bay and up the hill. It has the most amazing rooftop terrace with heavenly views, which on a summers day is perfect for a relaxing lunch. The food is good too! |

Breakfast on the front in The Hub, the one with the canopy next to the Pub?? They are great. The Mex has always been a favourite since it opened, the food is ok and it always has a great buzz about the place. Porthgwidden and Minster always deliver but if you don't want to spend £100 for two then the other places are great to visit. After saying all of that I probably eat most of the time in the Sloop, the food in there is good quality and live music from Bob helps the evening along. |

On Shore next to the Hub is fantastic, Real good value food, excellent pizza's and fantastic views. Any one know what the Firehouse bar and grill is like on fore street? |

I ate in the Fire House the other night, it was good food. I was impressed that they make all the food on site so you can alter the menu if you like, slightly! The pizzas were really good. |

Louise, the Gung Ho up Tregenna Hill is lovely. Very nice green curries. For burgers, Blas is best. Opposite the Arts Club. And Yeungs for their ribs — BBQ and Capital spare ribs. |

Last week we had lunch at The Loft - opened a few weeks ago where Blue Fish used to be above The Sloop Craft Market. Had a great meal. Well cooked, generous portions, friendly service. Recommended. http://www.theloftrestaurantandterrace.co.uk/ | |||

yeah, the Mex is good too. The wife and I always seem to end up there for an early dinner on new years eve. Matt |
